With box art leaking online back in April and Activision’s teaser site coming online this week, gamers had no reason to doubt that Call of Duty: Ghosts was the inevitable forthcoming installment of the best-selling first-person shooter franchise. After leaked promotional posters from a retailer hinted at a May 1st announcement, they even knew when to expect the news. Activision has confirmed today that Call of Duty: Ghosts, developed by Infinity Ward, will release on November 5th, 2013, for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, with versions also slated for the PlayStation 4 and the next-generation Xbox....

It’s official, everyone’s favorite hitman will be given a video game all his own. We’re not talking about Hit Monkey, sadly, but the only super…assassin capable of making a ‘meat suit’ actually look good: Deadpool. The announcement trailer released today shows that the Merc with a Mouth’s sense of humor - yellow thought boxes and all - will certainly be captured, and that the game will absolutely be what we’d call ‘graphic....

Few video game developers are as open about their process for as long as BioWare has been with Dragon Age Inquisition. From our very first look at the title sequence for the upcoming downloadable expansion Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, we knew it was going to be something special. Since then, Ubisoft hasn’t let us down. With a neon, futuristic setting filled with cyborgs and apocalypses, the tongue-in-cheek shooter bears little resemblance to the Far Cry 3 fans got to know last year. Luckily, the developers have released gameplay footage and commentary to show that the game may be wacky, but it’s still a shooter for any mature gamer....

In the latest State of the Game stream, Ubisoft reveals that after a month of testing, the massive 1.4 update for The Division is finally ready to be deployed to all platforms. It’s been a tale of two halves for Tom Clancy’s The Division after jumping out to massive success earlier this year with huge beta numbers and an impressive launch, which saw sales records come crumbling down. Unfortunately, the success could not be sustained as the game hit a rough stretch and continued to deal with bugs and other issues that even forced the developer to delay upcoming expansions....

There’s a quote from Super Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto in which the renowned game designer compares the best video games to playgrounds – places the player can return to again and again, exploring in different ways and always finding something new. It’s an approach to game design that emphasizes play, not mastery. Beating a game doesn’t matter; experiencing it does. Viewed from that perspective, Jazzpunk is the ultimate playground. Technically, Jazzpunk is a first-person adventure game, comprised of puzzles to solve and missions to finish....

Once considered a tacked on, and unnecessary, addition to Mass Effect 3, the horde-style co-operative multiplayer mode has continued to provide gamers with good reason to stay committed to the Galaxy at War - while waiting for the highly anticipated Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut DLC update. Co-op might not be for everyone - but it’s hardly the misfire that many concerned fans predicted. Now, only a few short weeks after the release of the Mass Effect 3 Rebellion Pack - which added Vorcha forces (among other class variants) into the mix - we’re now getting potential word of yet another multiplayer DLC update as well as a very brief product description for the aforementioned Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut....

Perhaps Activision is too focused on the on-going feud with the former Infinity Ward developers to notice leaks these days, but to which leak am I referring? With respect to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, there have been quite a few of them so that’s a fair question. Sport simulation titles are an interesting thing. While some video game developers spend their time trying to craft compelling stories, or come up with new and innovative gameplay mechanics, a sports title only has to mimic the real thing, and leave it to the player to create their own drama. We wouldn’t be surprised if, by the time Resident Evil 6 releases later this year, gamers had seen literally everything Capcom’s latest had to offer. After numerous trailers were released, Capcom began revealing gameplay footage that follows large sections of the title’s three intertwining chapters — perhaps in an effort to assuage fan fear’s about the game’s direction or maybe just to show off how cool the game looks. DC fans campaigned for years for Warner Bros. to “#ReleaseTheSnyderCut” before it was confirmed that Zack Snyder’s Justice League was being released. While many would have assumed that the campaigning would stop with the Snyder Cut coming to fruition, fans are not backing down. Their latest demand is for the studio to restore Snyder’s version of the DC universe. Zack Snyder’s Justice League releases on HBO Max in a week, but fans aren’t even waiting to watch it before asking the production studio to “#RestoreTheSnyderVerse....
