These days games rarely come out without any gameplay or performance issues, and that trend will likely continue as games become larger and more ambitious. It’s certainly not ideal, and some issues players may face could ruin their experiences, but developers have done quite well recently when it comes to acknowledging and addressing those problems. Take CD Projeckt RED and this week’s newest release, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Across all three of its platforms - PC, PS4, and Xbox One - the game’s performance and visuals have been the biggest (or most talked about) problems, though they haven’t taken away from its strengths and overall praise....

Later this month Respawn Entertainment will roll out the first DLC expansion for their multiplayer shooter Titanfall called Expedition. It promises to add three new maps to the fold, each building off the base game’s central concept of technology fused with nature. Having already detailed two of the Expedition DLC’s maps, Runoff and War Games, it was time for Respawn Entertainment to spill the beans on the final map, called Swampland....

The Mortal Kombat franchise is no stranger to weird species and unique characters, to say the least. Mario Golf: Super Rush is a fun, colorful, and challenging spin on the golf genre. Quite simply, there is a lot of nuance to this game and it can be overwhelming when trying to get to grips with the game’s golf mechanics. Book to movie adaptations are the biggest hit-or-miss events in entertainment. It’s so rare to find a movie that fans of the original source material can agree is so-so in portraying the message of the book. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will mark the first time that Activision’s popular shooter franchise will appear on a Nintendo console in all of its highly anticipated glory. While Call of Duty titles in the past have been passable ports of the PS3 and Xbox 360 experience, they were lacking in key areas like multiplayer and graphics. However, with the Wii U Nintendo is capable of providing a comparable experience, if not a better one....

Just last month it was revealed that there have been more games released on Steam in 2014 than during the entirety of 2013. The reason for the high amount of games is largely boosted by Steam Greenlight, which, via a community based voting system (rather than a publisher muscle backed one) allows games from small bedroom dev teams to one-man programming outfits get their games in front of those who’d love to play them....

While BioWare’s knack for storytelling earned them attention while refining their PC RPG mechanics, the Dragon Age series saw an interesting - and divisive - shift. With Dragon Age: Inquisition, the developers are keen to show that they can do both justice as the series arrives on next-gen consoles. The new and improved combat systems were put on full display at E3 2014, and now the second portion of that demo highlights a more customizable approach to combat, and a tease of the larger story....

At the beginning of the month, we received word that Bethesda would be making an exciting Skyrim announcement sometime in April. Originally thought to be a Skyrim DLC reveal for the title (unless that’s a separate reveal altogether), yesterday we learned that the news was something else entirely - a very unexpected unveiling of Kinect integration for the fan-favorite RPG, exclusive to Xbox 360 owners. While full details are still trickling in, we’re getting word that the Kinect integration patch will drop sometime during the week of April 23rd - bringing with it the option of unleashing the game’s iconic (and now trademarked) dragon shouts with your own voice....
