There was a time when gamers would throw their arms up in frustration at day-and-date DLC announcements - though, as the practice has become increasingly common, it seems that players are less inclined to get out their pitchforks and take to the streets. Unsurprisingly, like many 2011 triple-A titles before it, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations will get DLC add-ons only a few short weeks after release. At this point, the announced add-on, “The Ancestors Character Pack,” is only set to deliver new multiplayer characters - possibly another reason why players aren’t freaking out about the announcement....
For this year’s Xbox Live Summer of Arcade, Bastion was the main event and it was received with much fanfare (check our review of Bastion). Late last month we gave you word that Bastion will be coming to the PC before the end of the year. Well, it now looks like PC gamers will be able to get their hands on this popular XBLA title sooner than expected. Bastion represents the first title from Supergiant Games and it made its debut on XBLA on July 20th ....
In preparation for the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops’ next map pack, Annihilation, Activision has unveiled a trailer focused solely on the pack’s zombie map entitled Shangri-La. Though this long since abandoned temple-esque setting might seem like the perfect venue for an adventure, dozens upon dozens of zombies have a different idea in store for players: survival. Featuring ways in which the team of four can slide, drive, and launch themselves around the map, Shangri-La looks to be bringing a decent amount of new tricks to Black Ops’ Zombie mode, but still keeps the core gameplay in tact....
Dead Island, the game with the captivating buzz-generating trailer is now out, and while it’s been riddled with bugs, it does offer a fun 4-player co-op experience. That trailer, which made headlines outside of video game mediam caused a bit of a stir in the film industry as - like most games - there was interest from producers to acquire the game’s license to eventually adapt it to the big screen....

Grand Theft Auto Online has been under a lot of heat since its “release” on October 1st. Last month, Mortal Kombat X conquered the eSports world and the sales charts, but NetherRealm’s gory brawler isn’t done yet. The game’s first DLC add-on, the Horror Pack, arrived this week, with three classic monster-themed skins for members of Mortal Kombat X’s base roster and Friday the 13th icon Jason Voorhees as a playable character. The PC version of Resident Evil 6, which was promised for next year, has finally received a March 22, 2013 release date. We’ve previously noted the striking similarities between the superpowers showcased in Saints Row IV’s trailers and gameplay footage so far, and those in previous superhero games, particularly the Prototype games. This new trailer however, suggests that the similarities were intentional and are being used to directly parody other games on the market. It doesn’t look like the satire is too highbrow - much of the humor in the trailer seems to be based on simply recreating a scene from Mass Effect or Prototype and having the character be naked - but whoever said that jokes had to be intelligent in order to be funny....
Skyrim’s city housing contractors can gouge no more; players can officially ply their own skills in architectural design (and family planning) now that Bethesda’s latest DLC, “Hearthfire,” is available for download on Xbox Live. Starhawk has been in beta since December, but up until now, players required a PlayStation Plus subscription or code to participate - which could be found in copies of Uncharted 3 and through online give aways. CD Projekt Red just released the patch notes to their second hotfix so far for the renowned Cyberpunk 2077. And, while this patch fixes a lot of small stuff, it hilariously has added new bugs into the mix as well. But, ignoring all the minor bugs (and even the game-breaking ones), this game has a ton of quality-of-life features missing. So, let’s take a break from talking about all politics of this game and just look at some QOL fixes fans are hoping will come soon....

Hoods: Outlaws and Legends is not even a week old and already there are players who are quickly climbing through the ranks. In its current state, the most players can achieve is to play enough PvPvE to max out the levels of every character and unlock all their different equipment and abilities. Additionally, there are also achievements to attain as well as three challenges that refresh every day. Having only one competitive game mode, for the time being, it won’t be long until many players completely master Hood....
