This week contained a ton of news regarding Destiny’s upcoming expansion pack, House of Wolves - in fact, that it’s a little difficult to keep up with it all. For those fans who didn’t have the time to watch Bungie’s live stream, or just don’t have the patience to wade through thousands of words of text: don’t worry. Bungie’s got everyone covered. Bungie’s newest behind-the-scenes video condenses the last seven days’ worth of news into six jam-packed minutes....

Players can say what they will about the lack of a new raid in Destiny, but for a lot of fans the excitement for House of Wolves is undeterred. It may not be all of the content they were hoping for, but Destiny players are still nonetheless getting new experiences, and that’s reason to take notice. Thus far, however, we know very little about the House of Wolves DLC outside of a few general breakdowns....

Though talk of a sequel to Dishonored has already begun it will only be after official sales numbers for the game have been revealed that such a discussion could significantly gain traction. While publisher Bethesda has yet to reveal any specific sales numbers regarding Dishonored they have, however, come out to proclaim Arkane Studios’ supernatural assassin title is exceeding expectations. Moreover, they are using the rousing success of Dishonored to further fuel talk of said sequel....

Prior to the collapse of THQ and the sale of all of the company’s assets, a deal was struck between the now defunct publisher and Electronic Arts that saw the latter gain control of the rights to the UFC video game franchise. EA has been hyping the imminent arrival of the octagon-based combat sim for several months, and now the developer has finally gotten around to showing the game off — albeit a very brief glimpse of the realistic graphics that await gamers on next generation hardware....

Stop me if you’ve heard this one: Ubisoft Shanghai has just released a new trailer for I Am Alive that shows a vague release date. Yes, the game that has been pushed more times than blocks in Pushmo is back again with a new trailer featuring more tips for survival in the desolate wasteland of an post-apocalyptic world – more specifically the fictional American city of Haventon. This new I Am Alive trailer teaches something that Ubisoft knows all about: climbing!...

Hot of the success of her debut feature Promising Young Woman, writer, director, and actress Emerald Fennell has been hired to pen the script for a live-action feature film adaptation of DC Comics character Zatanna for theaters. Fennell recently made history by becoming the first woman to be nominated for the Academy Award for best director for a first feature and she also just took home a WGA award for best original screenplay....

Welcome to our regular gameplay impressions and video post where we record our first 10-30 minutes with a new game, and provide some general impressions on that early playthrough. Today’s game is: The Stanley Parable from developer Galactic Cafe. [NOTE: The game does crash at about the 17 minute mark, but we felt that the gameplay shown thus far was more than enough for gamers to make a decision about the title....

Hacker and thief Aiden Pearce was the best at what he did, so good in fact, that he uncovered something he shouldn’t have which lead to the death of a member of his family. Now, on a mission of revenge and vigilantism, Pearce will make those who wronged him pay and he can use the entire city of Chicago as his weapon. This is Watch Dogs and its surprise unveiling by Ubisoft at E3 2012 blew away the video game industry....

Aw, shucks! Looks like you just missed that big Steam Sale event, in which loads of quality games can be had at an average of 50% savings… But not to worry! Even disregarding the frequent and plentiful sales this major distribution platform cranks out, there are still a ton of great games to be had there. From addictive puzzlers to intense shooters; from major hits to some hidden gems, there are plenty of enjoyable titles you can snag for roughly the price of a Big Mac - or cheaper!...

Netflix’s Dragon’s Dogma is a polarizing anime especially for those who have played the video game. On one hand, it’s more of Dragon’s Dogma which is always a good thing. But on the other hand, it’s not exactly a stellar representation of the franchise due to the somewhat clunky CGI and the poor pacing of the series. Not to mention it also changed up a rather important aspect of the games....

When Super Mario 64 and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time released in 1996 and 1998 respectively, it would have been easy for Nintendo to release unambitious entries to the series; as the fact that they were 3D was always going to be a huge selling-point regardless of their quality. Most Pokemon are based on real animals in one way or another and likely have many of the same shortcomings....

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is one of the most exciting, boundary-breaking games to come from Nintendo in years. By returning to the series’ roots as a free-roaming, adventure, Nintendo has managed to do the impossible: reinvent a franchise that many players had come to feel was staid, predictable, and even boring. Not just that, but they managed to do so while also updating it enough to make it feel modern and competitive with the open-world games that populate consoles....

The Sims 4 team began to tease the latest expansion this week, the last release listed on the Summer Roadmap, and now the trailer has been revealed. The expansion is called Cottage Living and will be available on July 22 for PC, Mac, and Console. The tease began when a group of Game Changers received postcards from Henford on Bagley, signed by the familiar-sounding A. Crumplebottom - a name Sims franchise veterans will recognize from earlier games....

If there’s one bit of praise that can be directed at Anarchy Reigns, it’s the creativity that goes into its characters. When your cast includes a super-strong dominatrix, a walking 70s pimp stereotype, and a tiger-man with a gun in his leg, it’s clear that a lot of thought goes into each design. The latest addition to the game’s roster only further proves that, although the folks at Platinum Games may have taken one or more cues from the Batman series with this one....

One of the highlights, or at least one of the more talked about moments, from Microsoft’s Xbox One event was the official unveiling of Call of Duty: Ghosts. It was a lot of firsts for the annual franchise: a first look at the game’s new(ish) engine, a new story and characters, and a motion capture dog. One thing the presentation was decidedly light on, however, was gameplay. As it turns out, though, that may have been by design....

Epic Games has been driving a pretty intense “don’t trade in Gears of War 3” campaign, announcing one upcoming DLC offering after another - each one seemingly playing to the interest of different COG fans around the world. We’ve already heard about the upcoming “Horde Command Pack” add-on that will arrive in November and discovered that three yet-to-be-released multiplayer maps are already on the game’s retail disc. However, most interesting was talk of actual campaign story DLC that will fill in some of the blanks between the various Gears installments - and today we finally have official details on what players can expect from one (at least) single player add-on....
