Does it ever feel like there is “nothing to play”? The magic moments when you discover a new title worth your time seem to become rarer and rarer after you experience some of the best crafted works out there. It’s no secret that PlayStation exclusives tend to be absolute masterpieces. However, they can also easily upstage great indie titles that end up sitting in obscure corners of the PlayStation Store. These special games often come from small teams, sometimes even one person, who cannot afford to market their product as well as FIFA or Cyberpunk 2077, for example....

Even though Ubisoft has made many great games over the years, they’ve not always been the most popular developer around. Things like overpriced DLC, game-breaking bugs, and their tendency to milk franchises have left many players disillusioned by the company. Yet, they do deserve credit for how influential their releases have been on the gaming industry as a whole. Without them, gaming today would look very different. That game has been revealed as Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, and will bring the franchise back to its Old West roots. It’s not a question of if, but when Bethesda Softworks will unveil Fallout 4. The Maryland-based publisher/developer acquired the franchise from its original creator, Interplay Interactive, in 2007 (though a stiff legal battle muddied the situation until 2011) and has been forthright about its plans to expand the series beyond Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, the current two Bethesda iterations released in 2008 and 2010. Now, a new tease from a familiar face voice has indicated that a Fallout announcement, of some shape or form, is incoming....

It’s hard to believe that the Halo franchise is preparing to celebrate its tenth anniversary, but what isn’t hard to believe is that Microsoft and the gang at 343 Industries plan to do it in style. Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary was announced during this year’s E3, and it is a remake of the original Xbox game that started the entire Halo phenomenon. Microsoft announced today that those who are looking forward to celebrating the birthday of the decade-old franchise will receive a little bonus for pre-ordering Anniversary through select retailers....

2011 saw two Marvel Studios blockbusters hit theaters to relative critical and financial success, but each also saw a crappy video game tie-in that rightfully didn’t earn as much love. We are of course, speaking of the Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger movies, films that told the origin tales of each Avenger, and each that got a tie-in game with a standalone story: Thor: God of Thunder and Captain America: Super Soldier, respectively....

While the ‘Dawnguard’ DLC remains a hot topic for Bethesda as the first content expansion for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, it’s that other big franchise game from the series that they brought to E3 2012 alongside Dishonored, their new IP. The Elder Scrolls Online wasn’t playable, but we did view a demo that showcased the world, factions and action combat of the game. But more on that later. While waiting for Bethesda’s presentation we roamed around in an armory of replicas of weapons and armors from the game....

Earlier this week, we teased that The Last of Us developer Naughty Dog was going to be revealing some alternate endings to their critically acclaimed game at PAX East. However, as it turns out, the team at Naughty Dog is spilling the beans a little earlier. In order to discuss the alternate plot points and ending, though, Naughty Dog also has to spoil some parts of The Last of Us’ ending that did make it into the final cut....
