With the newest release of their MMORPG Fallout 76, there are new stories in the Fallout universe to be told....

Mojang is evidently hard at work on a few new productions, but 0x10c has certainly taken the spotlight - considering Notch himself is hard at work on the project. Revealed less than a month ago, Notch is now comfortable enough with the title to reveal more information about the gameplay - along with a debut trailer. The trailer may not show much (in fact, it’s pretty much just pixelated space), but the voice in the video paints an intriguing story for for 0x10c....

The developers at doublesix (Burn Zombie Burn, South Park Let’s Go Tower Defense Play!) are back with a brand new downloadable game for PC, PSN, and Xbox Live Arcade. All Zombies Must Die! fuses twin-stick shooter mechanics with role-playing elements, but is the resulting game greater than the sum of its parts, or is it just another drop of water in a veritable sea of zombie-themed shooters? With everything shown of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag so far, a casual observer might assume that besides being developed by the same team(s) and sharing a common title, there is little tying the seafaring pirate adventure to the larger Assassin’s Creed fiction. Sure, new protagonist Edward Kenway is an ancestor of Desmond Miles, but the trailers have chosen to highlight Kenway’s role as a master swashbuckler, not a member of the Assassin Order....

At this point most people who had intended to see what all the Batman: Arkham City buzz was about have likely played through most, if not all of the game. But for those who failed to pre-order at specific retailers, the multitude of extra content offered with the game has been out of reach - or overpriced. Now Rocksteady has unveiled their holiday bundles, combining Arkham City’s bonus characters, suits and Challenge maps into a package available for one low price....

After what seemed like a decent start, Visceral and DICE’s recent Battlefield Hardline has struggled to maintain strong player numbers. In fact, Battlefield 4, which was released over a year and a half ago, currently claims more regular players than the newest Battlefield addition. Despite that challenge, the game’s developers are committed to providing a positive, exciting experience for those players still handing out justice to criminals on the streets of Battlefield Hardline....

Though the game doesn’t launch for another month, the newest trailer for Black Ops 2 has all the makings of an official launch trailer. Packed to the brim with spectacle, explosions, and cool new gameplay mechanics; laced with a pounding rock ’n roll soundtrack; and featuring choice quotes about how great the game is going to be, this trailer is anything but subtle. More importantly, though, this Black Ops 2 trailer gives gamers a decent-sized taste of the type of action in store for them in Treyarch’s newest title....

The minds behind Call of Duty: Ghosts blew the doors off when the first official story trailer took traditional modern combat into space, so they’ll forgive us if high-octane action on Earth isn’t as impressive as it once was. Even so, Infinity Ward has turned to some major action set-pieces and cinematic moments for the brand new Ghosts launch trailer - with the added backup of both Eminem and dogs. How successful are they at exciting their fans?...

Those who have continued to play Counter-Strike throughout their gaming life time will know that the game has more than its fair share of available mods - to add some spice to the regular gameplay. One of the most popular mods to be played currently is the aptly named, “Gun Game” (no association with the Black Ops version), but it does have an awful lot of similarities. Valve will be including the mod, renaming it “Arsenal Mode” in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive....

Like it or not, Dark Souls on the PC was a bit of a mess. From poor resolution to lackluster controller support, the PC port of From Software’s game left a lot to be desired. With Dark Souls 2, however, From Software is learning from past sins and vowing to do right by gamers. And while Dark Souls 2 is still a franchise best experienced with controller, the developer promises parity across all platforms....

NASA scientists are calling it the BioShock: Infinite effect: Ken Levine announces that Irrational Games’ massively anticipated blockbuster is abandoning its October 16th release date for February 2013, and a new major player races to plant its flag on voided calendar slot. The first guess for analysts like Wedbush Morgan’s Michael Pachter was that Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V might step up and give Take Two (the publisher of both games) some breathing room between major releases....

Great Britain has a a compact but thriving games industry, with studios including Rocksteady, Rockstar and Codemasters, as well as a slew of talented indie developers native to the UK. Known for its pedigree in programming and game development, it is a place that has spawned some of the world’s most beloved game creators and franchises. However, two of the Britain’s most prominent IPs may take a while to add to their ‘core’ installments....

It takes a good sports game to entertain the masses - but it takes a great one to be able to predict the future. That’s exactly what EA Sports tried to with the FIFA franchise already, predicting the 2011 Regular Season Schedule to a pretty amazing degree. Now, almost 8 months later, they’re using FIFA 12 to predict who’s going to win in the MLS Cup final this November, as the Los Angeles Galaxy take on the Houston Dynamo in what is going to be a heated match between two of the most dangerous clubs in the entire league....

Survive for sixty seconds. That’s all that Minutes asks. Forget about saving the princess, rescuing the galaxy, stopping the demons, or conquering the world. Just survive. In Sony’s release notes, designer Richard Ogden calls Minutes a “minimalist game,” but that doesn’t mean that it’s a simple one. Behind Minutes’ straightforward controls and simple visuals lies a surprisingly deep, tactical experience. While each of the game’s sixty levels is only a minute long (hence the name), players will spend much more than an hour chasing down high scores, dodging obstacles, and gunning for that elusive perfect score....

The relationship between people who make games and the people who play them has always been a tenuous one. Since the advent of online gaming communities, gamers have been one of the loudest, most contentious consumer groups out there. “Gamers rise up” is a joke, sure, but only in its phrasing. Gamers are, often, easily galvanized and radicalized - especially when it comes to perceived slights against them. On the development side, people working long hours to create games have to contend with that struggle....

The Forever Purge is set to be the fifth and final movie in the Purge franchise, and in order to give the series a proper conclusion, the creators hope to delve deeper into the themes that inspired the series. During a discussion with Total Film, James DeMonaco and Everardo Gout, the creator and director respectively, explained that they want the film to be very clear on how they feel about current events....

I came into Radiant Silvergun not knowing what to expect but, since the game has been overshadowed by plenty of Triple-A October releases, I did some research. Radiant Silvergun was actually originally released in arcades and the SEGA Saturn in 1998, but those versions never saw an official release outside of Japan. Fast forward to the year 2011, and the game’s original developer Treasure has finally brought the title to a Western audience with enhanced graphics and added online features....

Insomniac Games may have recently partnered with Microsoft to create the new IP Sunset Overdrive, but most fans recognize the studio as being a partner for Sony through and through. After all, Insomniac brought gamers the iconic character Spyro the Dragon, as well as delivered one of the best action platformers of the PS2 era, Ratchet & Clank. The popularity of Ratchet & Clank lives on, as the game spawned numerous sequels, spinoffs, and other media, and is now actually set to make the jump to the big screen....

Star Wars: Battlefront looks like it could be the most immersive and authentic Star Wars game in years - perhaps ever. With massive 40 player battles, ground-to-air vehicular combat, playable characters like Boba Fett and Darth Vader, and graphics built from the films’ original props, Star Wars: Battlefront looks like it’ll have a little bit of everything. Well, almost everything. While Star Wars: Battlefront will let players battle in a variety of locations from the original trilogy, the prequels and upcoming sequels won’t make an in-game appearance....

There’s a stigma among gamers that video games aren’t as funny as they used to be. Considering this generation’s emphasis on realism and gritty action, players are often forced to look to older titles such as Monkey Island in order to get their share of giggles.
