Fans of 4A Games’ shooter Metro: 2033 are going to have to wait even longer to visit the dreary subways of Russia, as THQ announced today that Metro: Last Light has been delayed into the first quarter of 2013. THQ announced at an investors meeting that they were aiming for an early 2013 release, which means the title is seeing a delay of more than six months. Metro: Last Light was first shown off at E3 2011 via a Portishead-filled trailer with an estimated Summer 2012 release date....

It took some time for NBA Jam to resurface but when it did, with last year’s Wii iteration (and subsequent PS3 and Xbox 360 ports), players around the world were reminded of how incredibly fun the series can be - even if that installment was a thin retail game offering. This year’s follow-up, NBA Jam: On Fire Edition, takes that same formula but makes it deeper and more challenging. Raven Software creative director Amos Hodge has opened up about the impact of Warzone cheaters on the developers saying, “No-one hates the cheaters more than we do”. The topic came up during an interview with VGC about the game’s recent update to Season 3 and all of the changes that have come because of it. Sid Meier has delved into a variety of settings with the ever-expanding catalog of simulation and strategy games he’s known for, most recently outer space with the latest installment of Civilization: Beyond Earth. Developer Firaxis Games has already revealed that the game veteran isn’t returning to earth just yet with the next title Sid Meier’s Starships. Since announcing Starships last month, Firaxis Games has shared screenshots and a 30-minutes of gameplay, and have now confirmed a release date of March 12th....

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons shouldn’t have been a success. It’s a small title from Starbreeze Studios, a company more commonly associated with big games like Syndicate and Payday 2 than whimsical indie titles. The game’s controls are odd, too; in Brothers, each side of the gamepad guides a different character, allowing gamers to control both Naiee and Nyaa, simultaneously. It’s intentionally awkward, and should’ve turned off gamers immediately...

The Call of Duty series isn’t often credited with taking massive risks in either design or technology, and with the developers behind Call of Duty: Ghosts claiming they’re more interested in creating a fun game than a groundbreaking one, the habit hasn’t looked to be breaking any time soon. But that doesn’t mean the team at Infinity Ward won’t be trying out a few new methods of gameplay, or broadening the types of experiences made possible in Ghosts’ multiplayer....

Calico is an animal-centric community sim game that focuses on building and developing a cat cafe, and it has just surprise launched on the Nintendo Switch, PC, and Xbox. The game was developed be Peachy Keen Games and published by Whitethorn Digital. Some aspects of Calico may draw comparisons to the beloved Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Befriending animals, creating a character and collecting new clothing items, decorating and designing the cat cafe, and playing mini-games are all a part of the fun....

After initially announcing the upcoming patch for Dragon Age: Inquisition, known as Patch 5, BioWare released an early version of the patch as part of its beta program, which is meant to work out the bugs and get the patch out faster than previous updates. The patch still isn’t out yet, as the developer is still working on it, but BioWare has since decided to release a full list of all the fixes and improvements contained within....
