Sony had spent a fair amount of time assuring fans and investors that Gran Turismo 6 would be a PS3 title long before it was officially revealed yesterday. However, the president of Polyphony Digital has admitted that they’ve got plans to bring the fan-favorite racing simulator to the next generation too. Gran Turismo faithfuls will likely have enjoyed yesterday’s trailer but the usual top choice for racing game enthusiasts may face tough competition on the PS4 - with Drive Club maintaining a high polygon count and simply gorgeous visuals....

This March, publisher/developer Capcom was discovered as yet another purveyor of on-disk DLC - selling players a game disk under the guise of total ownership and access, while secretly locking additional content (in this case, 12 new fighters for Street Fighter X Tekken) to sell at a later date. Capcom issued a statement shortly thereafter - they defended the method as vital for “efficiency and flexibility” in the game’s life cycle, but acknowledged the unsavory nature of the ordeal and promised to reevaluate their DLC approach in the future....

Although most gamers battled the Order of No Quarter last summer to beat the Kickstarter-turned-smash hit Shovel Knight, it is possible there are still some gamers who have yet to play the indie title. From practically the moment its Kickstarter was launched, Cloud Imperium Games’ Star Citizen seemed destined for the record books. Within a few days, the game blew well past its $6 million goal, and several months later it was pushing $30 million. Now, the game has generated so much money from crowdfunding that it really has broken a record. According to Star Citizen developer Chris Roberts, he of Wing Commander fame, the game has become the Guinness World Record holder for largest crowdfunded project ever....

Music can make or break a game, which is why it’s big news when developers reveal who is working on any given soundtrack. For instance, the heavy metal composed by Mick Gordon is synonymous with id Software’s recent Doom games, and fans of 80s power ballads can now look forward to getting their hands on SMG Studio’s Moving Out, which features Lenny Macaluso in its scoring. Despite a strong belief that the game was destined for next-gen after its stunning display at E3 2012, Ubisoft has today confirmed Watch Dogs will release in 2013. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot announced the news today during a financial call. Thus far we had received confirmation that Ubisoft would like to release Watch Dogs on all three major platforms (PC, PS3, and Xbox 360), but a Wii U version is not out of the question....

Once players complete the main story of the game, New Game Plus gives them the option to replay it all over again. The difference is that it includes a new Spidey suit and comes of loads of new features, including “Ultimate” difficulty, a challenging game mode compulsory for any completionist....
