We’ve seen ragdoll physics present in more triple-A games than I can count. Ever since Halo it seems that ragdoll physics have been a fun and simple way of making your enemies, and even yourself, flop around the screen so we can wryly smile as the sheer misfortune and slapstick comedy of it all. Physics-based puzzler Human Fall Flat seems to be created on the principle that seeing people fall over is very funny indeed, but it does beg the question of why physics engines do not play a bigger part of triple-A productions, instead of just being relegated to ragdolling dead enemies....

Rather than fuss over which protagonist to include in Resident Evil 6, Capcom has decided to go for broke and include two biggest members of their catalogue of fan favorite characters Leon and Chris into the game’s single player campaign, albeit in storylines somewhat independent of each other. But beyond just that, they’ve also added a new character, Jake, (who just so happens to be the son of Albert Welker) to add a little intrigue to the mix....
Originally announced as an Xbox 360 Kinect-exclusive title, Ryse looked as if it would finally be delivering a fun (and horrendously gory) experience on the hands-free gaming camera. As many were surprised to learn during Microsoft’s latest E3 press conference, however, the game’s development has been pushed to the Xbox One — ditching Kinect controls and adding a subtitle in the process. Now known as Ryse: Son of Rome, I was fortunate enough to get a behind-closed doors look at the game during E3 2013, and it appears to be shaping up quite nicely....

Star Citizen has the potential to change the way that the industry thinks about crowdfunded releases. The title, from developer Cloud Imperium Games, has broken a huge number of commercial records for video game crowd sourcing, and backing recently hit the $75 million mark. The game itself promises to be a deeply immersive experience when complete, with Cloud Imperium aiming to create a whole new genre of gaming. Although movie and television producers can’t seem to drag a live-action adaptation of the Fables comic out of development hell (where it has been stuck since 2005), the fairy-tale-themed crime drama seems to be settling in quite nicely to the world of video games. The first episode of Telltale’s Fable’s adaptation, The Wolf Among Us, received pretty stellar reviews and players have been waiting (not so patiently) on the edge of their seats for the second installment....

Kicking off a huge month in gaming is Naughty Dog’s latest third-person action game, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. While the single player content of Uncharted 3 has been largely shrouded in mystery, Naughty Dog has done everything humanly possible to hype up the game’s multiplayer. From the release of a widely successful beta to the on-going Subway promotion, the developer is giving gamers every conceivable chance to become familiar with many of the tweaks and changes that have been made to the Uncharted multiplayer formula this time around....
Wolfenstein is a series that has always provided gamers with a unique take on the genre it helped create. Blasting Nazi soldiers and their robotic minions has become a trademark of the historic franchise, and MachineGames is looking to maintain several aspects of the series’ trademark style; while still adding new features to expand the current fan base. Wolfenstein: The New Order, despite its official unveiling, is still shrouded in mystery, but this year’s E3 should shed some more light on title....
