In a new Battlefield 4 trailer that showcases the revamped Battlelog, assistant producer Jesper Nielsen explains that DICE has “tried to expand the service to be super-integral to the game experience.” It’s a clever way to keep passionate Battlefield fans hooked, by encouraging them to track their stats even whilst travelling or at work (though you probably shouldn’t let your boss catch you doing it). DayZ creator Dean Hall is now officially ready to move on from his popular Arma 2 mod with the announcement this week of his new studio, RocketWerkz. When Hall announced his plans to leave Bohemia Interactive by the end of this year, it raised a few eyebrows among his popular survival game’s player base. DayZ remains one of the biggest success stories of the past few years and yet the game is still arguably in an ‘unfinished’ state....
As it stands, DayZ is far from a complete game. It has a barebones amount of content, bugs galore, and a community that isn’t afraid to make you suffer. Despite all this, gamers continue to flock to the game’s early access alpha, putting their trust and their wallets in the hands of Dean “Rocket” Hall, the game’s creator. As one of the more unexpected game releases in recent memory, the announcement of Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare was met with genuine excitement. Taking the simplified tower defence game into the realm of team-based shooters proved to be equal parts comical and enjoyable, although we noted several issues in regards to the game’s shortage of content in our review. Even then, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare proved to be successful for Electronic Arts and PopCap Games, which is why a followup was inevitable....

Yesterday, Ubisoft announced that Rayman Legends, once a Wii U exclusive, will now grace other platforms, as well. That’s good news for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners, who won’t have to miss out on what is shaping up to be one seriously charming, gorgeous platformer. Wii U owners, on the other hand, are stuck with a big, fat delay. Rayman Legends was originally slated to release in a matter of weeks, on February 26th....

Despite a few debatable player suspensions and troubles with overloaded servers on launch which has BioWare considering how they would’ve done things differently, it’s safe to say the launch of Star Wars: The Old Republic has been a phenomenal success. In fact, it already proved to be the fastest growing MMO ever, a testament to brand loyalty towards both Star Wars and developer BioWare. As widely publicized before the game’s launch, EA and BioWare have been ‘aggressively’ planning post-launch content for The Old Republic since the get-go and have had large teams working since way before the game’s launch....
