E3 2019 is already wrapping up, and there have been tons of exciting announcements. Square Enix hosted its own presentation, where the company talked about the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake, Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, and the long-awaited Marvel’s Avengers. After being announced years ago, Marvel’s Avengers is finally close to release, and we got to see what the game would look like and how it would play. The reaction from the internet has been a bit mixed so far for various reasons, but we’re here to dive into it and explain why it looks quite good....

Contrary to popular belief, though, Alan Wake on the PC will not be published by Microsoft — it is actually being self-published by Remedy — and will be available only on Steam....

Fans of the critically acclaimed and almost universally adored Batman: Arkham City have been patiently awaiting the release of Batman: Arkham Knight, as its been four years since the last proper, Rocksteady-developed entry in the series. Thankfully, after a number of delays, the game is finally nearing its launch date. Unfortunately, WB Games stirred up some bad press for the highly anticipated title recently with the announcement of its Season Pass....

While the Call of Duty franchise continues to generate record-breaking sales number after record-breaking sales number, it has become a bit stale in the eyes of gamers. The hype train for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train has yet to pull into the station for Western audiences, but it is speeding along in Japan at a breakneck pace. The proof is in the earnings and the number of days it took to get there. Toho and Aniplex, co-distributors for the Demon Slayer movie, confirmed that the film grossed more than 30 billion yen (roughly $290 million) in ticket sales just 59 days after it released in Japan....

When Bungie first launched the Crota’s End raid it was the most grueling and challenging portion of Destiny. Many players resorted to pulling their ethernet cable from the wall to glitch the near-invulnerable god for an easy victory. Today, top tiered guardians are not content with just defeating Crota, though, but are placing self-imposed restrictions to ensure that they completely humiliate the Son of Oryx. Such impressive feats include a fireteam of Titans completing Crota’s End without firing their weapons, speedrunners causing two swordbearers to appear during the final fight and one player who soloed the entire raid while only using No Land Beyond, widely considered to be Destiny’s worst weapon....

Despite the futuristic setting and the swarms of organic-robot alien hybrids, Bungie’s upcoming sci-fi adventure shooter Destiny has more than a touch of the medieval to it. There’s a class in the enemy Hive species called ‘Knights,’ and the players who are tasked with protecting the last city on Earth from invading forces are known as ‘Guardians.’ Also, pretty much everyone wears armor, which means that in true Halo fashion it’s rare to actually see a human face....

While it may seem like a genre that’s ripe for exploration, comprehensive space simulations are a rare breed. It’s one thing to drop players into a space-like environment, but it’s another thing entirely to truly simulate a living and breathing universe that encourages players to experience the given universe in their own way. Elite: Dangerous is one of the most promising of these titles and thanks to the reveal of a release date, gamers don’t have long to wait before beginning their spacefaring career....

With just about a month left before the September 17 release of Grand Theft Auto 5, more details about the Rockstar Games project are continuing to trickle out. After yesterday’s tease concerning GTA5’s online gameplay, the open world action-adventure title is back in the spotlight today with two more pieces of information for fans to digest. Future GTA5 owners can expect the option to pick up some post-launch DLC to expand on the adventures in Los Santos, but Rockstar is giving everyone fair warning that any additional content will be region-locked....

After about two months of ironing out the wrinkles, the online component to Grand Theft Auto 5 (VGX game of the year) is finally running smoothly. Players that suffered through the rocky launch of GTA Online have been rewarded with stimulus packages and now death matches, street races, and other random acts of crime are all running as intended. Well, running as intended for the most part… Gamers that have played through the GTA 5 campaign are already familiar with the snow-covered mountain town North Yankton....

This year, LEGO Jurassic World, LEGO Dimensions, and LEGO Marvel’s Avengers will all be released. But despite the big licenses behind them, those could all be overshadowed by the latest LEGO game on the scene: LEGO Worlds. LEGO Worlds was leaked last week as developer TT Games sent out a piece of promotional material encouraging players to “Explore. Discover. Create.” which led some people to believe that the game would be a LEGO version of Minecraft....

If there’s one thing that a developer can do to win fans it’s provide extra content for no extra charge. That’s the method being used by Radical Entertainment in advance of Prototype 2’s release, announcing today the RADNET Edition of the game, and the extra content it will be bringing. Committed to the game’s theme of mixed blessings, the team also announced that the PC version of Prototype 2 has been delayed until July of 2012....
