If impatience and a lust for details is a sign of popularity, then Assassin’s Creed: Unity is off to a promising start. After the existence of the game was leaked prematurely, Ubisoft confirmed the French Revolution setting in a brief teaser trailer. The rumors of a previous-gen release (referred to as Assassin’s Creed: Comet) for 2014 alongside the Xbox One/PS4 Unity have yet to be confirmed or disproved, but it appears that the first image and details concerning the game’s pre-order bonus DLC have similarly been revealed ahead of schedule....

When Borderlands released three years ago, it raised expectations for what gamers should expect from co-op RPG shooters. Embracing a cel shaded art style and giving players the freedom to travel where they desire with tons of weapons to toy with, Borderlands helped define the “looter shooter” genre, easily earning a lot of praise, a lot of money and of course, a sequel. With Borderlands 2, Gearbox Software aims to maintain what fans loved from the original and improve upon its faults....

Part of our hands-on time with the Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer during Call of Duty XP let us tool around with the new strike package feature, new perks, and some of the weapon combinations that are available this time around. While the strike package killstreaks have already been somewhat detailed, the perks available have been kept secret, until now. While we have a full list of the perks that were available during the Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer preview, we do not, however, have detailed information as to what the pro versions of these perks imbue the player with....

Speaking to a roundtable of reporters, Gabe Newell reveals that some of his ‘childish’ employees at Valve enjoy teasing fans about the possibility of Half-Life 3. Fans have been waiting for Half-Life 3 for a decade. While some have given up on ever seeing Gordan Freeman’s adventure conclude, others haven’t given up hope, poring over any photos of Valve headquarters for a sign that the game is in development. Even though we haven’t seen anything official on Half-Life 3, there has been plenty of evidence of its existence over the last 10 years, but as it turns out, this supposed “evidence” is just Valve employees playing a trick on fans....

Dragon Age: Inquisition is one of the most highly anticipated titles coming for new-gen. Both hardcore fans and those new to the franchise have been wowed by what BioWare has revealed about their fantasy epic. From the stunning visuals to the in-depth tactical combat, the developer has clearly built upon previous criticisms, and the third title in the Dragon Age franchise looks set to bring a new level of intensity to the RPG genre....

An asymmetrical multiplayer game, Evolve is one of the most hotly anticipated games of 2015, despite being a new IP. The most popular component of Turtle Rock Studios’ upcoming title is its multiplayer mode wherein five players jump into a map and four play as the human ‘Hunters’ while one plays as the ‘Monster’. In the recent Evolve beta over 2 million matches (of around 10 minutes each) were played by those who took part, which helped the developer balance the game, stress test the servers, and garner more pre-release interest....

Much like Bungie did with previous Halo games, new developer 343 Industries is constantly tweaking the Halo 4 multiplayer experience. They’ve released new game modes, a plethora of new maps, and new Spartan Ops content in an effort to keep gamers coming back. Just recently, 343 rolled out what might be their most important Halo 4 update yet. This specific update not only makes those very important little tweaks, but also re-tunes most of the game’s weapons — changing how they work and how effective they are in battle....

At E3 2013, Kingdom Hearts 3 was officially announced via a surprise trailer during Sony’s press conference. Since its initial reveal, Square Enix has kept the game close to its chest, only releasing minute bits of info and some gameplay footage to whet fans’ appetites. That all changed at E3 2015, as Kingdom Hearts 3 was treated as the star of Square Enix’s press conference. Square Enix threw fans off by saying that the next Kingdom Hearts 3 update wasn’t coming until this fall’s annual D20 event in Japan, so the gorgeous gameplay trailer showcased during E3 came as one of the event’s best and most genuine surprises....

Premium Call of Duty: ELITE subscribers have already been enjoying plenty of Modern Warfare 3 DLC. Everyone else will be able to partake in the action starting next week, and to get players ready Activision has released a new trailer. Activision heralds the first Content Collection as being the biggest batch of DLC in Call of Duty history, as it includes four new multiplayer maps and two brand new Spec Ops missions....

It’s been assumed since Red Dead Redemption was released to nearly universal acclaim and blockbuster sales that Rockstar Games wasn’t going to settle for a single game set in the game’s universe. Strong franchises are hard to come by these days, and it’s safe to say there are millions of gamers already willing to pay for a Red Dead sequel. For their part, Rockstar has kept quiet about their future plans for the series, but a new employee document suggests that Red Dead Redemption 2 could already be in development, inevitably planned for a release on the next generation of home consoles....

When Microsoft first announced Rise of the Tomb Raider as an Xbox exclusive fans were sent into a frenzy. While many had expected Sony and Microsoft to match each other blow for blow with new features and first party exclusives, few expected that third party titles might also be on the table. And as it turns out, those suspicions were partially true, as Rise of the Tomb Raider was later revealed to be a timed exclusive for the Xbox One and Xbox 360, not an outright exclusive....

While most gamers figure it will be at least a couple more months before they get their hands on Star Wars: The Old Republic, they desperately want to find solace in something like a firm release date. Unfortunately, Electronic Arts still isn’t ready to deliver said release date, but are sticking with a Q4 target. For EA and BioWare it’s very much the Blizzard approach to this particular MMO: as soon as The Old Republic is finished, then BioWare will start talking release dates, but up until completion they don’t want to give too much away....

F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic The Great Gatsby is being brought to life again, in the form of a TV series. However, this adaptation will be slightly different from the ones before. The main focus will be on New York’s Black community in the 1920s, along with the music culture at the time. With Vikings Creator Michael Hirst taking the helm, A+E Studios and ITV Studios America will make it all happen....

Tiger Woods has finally won another major championship - winning at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. It’s been quite some time since Tiger has been placed in the winners’ circle, and it’s been even longer since his EA Sports series has seen some fundamental improvements, but thankfully it was time for a change on both fronts. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 is here and it brings with it a new swing mechanic, some pretty deep and extensive modes, and full integration with Microsoft’s Kinect motion controller, each meant to draw golf fans back into a series that has struggled to find its place in the sports game world....

While we have already seen quite a bit of Lara Croft in action in Square Enix’s new reboot of Tomb Raider, the publisher has just today announced who would be voicing the iconic adventurer. Thus far, we’ve only heard Croft’s voice in fits and spurts but now gamers are going to become better acquainted with the actress voicing her. That individual in question is Camilla Luddington, a British-born actress who has made the rounds on premium cable TV....

To say that Wolfenstein: The New Order has had a bumpy ride to launch would be to put it mildly. After word came through that the title would not feature multiplayer, combined with a lackluster showing at last year’s E3, many were concerned about MachineGames upcoming release might be yet another disappointment for the once-great franchise. However, now that the first reviews for Wolfenstein: The New Order have hit, it appears that, despite prior concerns, MachineGames was able to deliver a competent shooter with surprisingly strong character work....
