Ubisoft recently extended an invitation to Sony to head over to their offices and bear witness to the first few hours of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. After getting his hands on the game, Senior Social Media Manager of Sony Jeff Rubenstein is now providing answers to some of our questions for the much anticipated sequel. Not only were they able to catch a first look glimpse of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations gameplay, Rubenstein actually witnessed all of it in 3D....

Thanks in large part to the critical acclaim for Quantic Dream’s 2010 interactive drama Heavy Rain, anticipation is high for director David Cage’s upcoming title Beyond: Two Souls. The title in question will feature cutting-edge motion capture technology and a lead performance from Ellen Page (Juno), who plays a girl called Jodi who was born with a gift that might equally be considered a curse. As was demonstrated in the 35-minute gameplay video showing Jodi’s life on the streets, the single-player campaign will require you to switch between Ellen Page’s character and the strange, invisible entity who has been attached to her since her birth — allegedly called Aiden....

As far as Easter Eggs go Borderlands 2 is filled to the brim. While many of them will go unnoticed by gamers more concerned with loot, those who take a careful look around Pandora will find Gearbox Software has peppered the world with clever in-jokes and references. The newest of those Easter Eggs that has been discovered can be found in Borderlands 2’s first DLC story expansion, Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty, and is a clever nod to the popular BioShock series....

Weeks are just peeling away until Deus Ex: Human Revolution releases - and Eidos Montreal saw fit to release a new trailer, detailing the actual conspiracy-oriented nature of the game’s story. What? You didn’t think it was just about Adam Jensen stabbing people with arm swords and using elbow grenades, did you? True, he will be using those tools, but only to stop a growing conspiracy. In addition, GameStop is holding their own Deus Ex: Human Revolution giveaway offering $20,000 of various living room “augmentations” should you pre-order the game from them....

Whether justified or not, the idea of romantic entanglements in video games and BioWare have become nearly synonymous. With romance and courting gaining special attention in both Mass Effect and Dragon Age, the studio’s writers know that the shift to next-gen means every aspect of game design will have to raise the bar: romance included. With Dragon Age: Inquisition getting even more time in the oven than first expected, the development team is placing more emphasis than ever on player freedom....

Bringing Minecraft to the Xbox 360 has proven to be a fruitful venture for Mojang, which comes as no surprise to anyone who’d been following the indie phenomenon prior to its XBLA debut. 4J Studios has put the finishing touches on update 1.8.2, and 360 owners are growing eager to meet up with friends on Xbox Live and try out all of the new features that the humongous update will provide them with....

In 2012, 2K Games and developer Firaxis brought back one of the most beloved turn-based strategy game franchises of all time. XCOM: Enemy Unknown was released to rave reviews, and its success even warranted a DLC expansion called XCOM: Enemy Within that also received a full release. Recently, 2K started an ARG teaser campaign for a mysterious project called Project Advent. Speculation pointed to the mystery game either being a new BioShock game (as 2K recently expressed interest in more BioShock sequels) or a sequel to the 2012 XCOM reboot....

The Elder Scrolls series is considered by many as the best open-world RPG series out there. It might not compete with The Witcher 3’s storytelling, but Bethesda has created enthralling worlds for players to explore again and again. That doesn’t mean that their games are perfect, however. On the flip side, there is arguably no other RPG series that has the number of bugs and inconsistencies that Bethesda games have. With games this large, it’s hard to get everything right, but that doesn’t mean we can’t joke about it....

The Xbox Series X is Microsoft’s upcoming console, which will belong in the ninth generation of video game consoles alongside the PlayStation 5. It is Microsoft’s fourth main entry to the video game industry and is anticipated to be the most powerful video game home console in the history of gaming. The console is will become available to the public on November 10, 2020. Microsoft has always placed multimedia and accessibility at the forefront when it comes to their consoles....

Since Naughty Dog has yet to give us another installment in the Jak and Daxter series, the best we can do at this point is look back and reminisce about the good times we had with the franchise. From the moments of rage that came from repeatedly failing a mission to the moments of unadulterated joy that came from the witty dialogue, these games were brilliant. Sadness comes from the fact that there hasn’t been a Jak 4 yet, and it’s still unclear if there ever will be....

Sonic The Hedgehog first entered our lives back in 1991 and to celebrate Sega has announced that 2021 will be dedicated to Sonic’s 30th Anniversary with the release of the amazingly named Sonic Encyclo-speed-ia, a huge merchandise drop and most importantly, new games. After Sonic appeared to embark on a three year vacation after Sonic Forces, we’ll be very welcome to welcome the blue blur back onto our consoles. Sure, we’ve had the Sonic movie, but frankly we’re still recovering from the trauma of seeing the original Sonic design....

When Capcom officially announced a new Resident Evil game last June, few could have expected that it would be arriving so soon. After months of rumors and speculation, however, the Japanese developer revealed that Resident Evil 8 will be releasing on May 7th. What’s more, the company also put out a playable demo of the game just to help whet people’s appetites for what lies ahead. With May still several months away though and the demo offering only around half an hour of gameplay at best, those looking for a way to pass the time until the game’s arrival would do well to take a look back into the annals of gaming’s past....

Fans of FPS who want a more straightforward action experience always enjoy a good round of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. After all, this hallmark iteration of OG Counter-Strike retains the same FPS fun with a more multiplayer-oriented setup. In turn, CS:GO provides just the same level of tactical and fast-paced shooter fun as its original counterpart. Unfortunately, newcomers to CS:GO might feel a bit overwhelmed with the kind of fast-paced combat other players might be demonstrating in the game....

Sucker Punch Productions has been a familiar name to Sony fans for a while with their Sly Cooper and Infamous franchises. They recently added a new IP under their belt with Ghost of Tsushima, an open-world samurai game detailing a samurai’s fight against a Mongol invasion in thirteenth-century Japan. It is not a particularly difficult game, with the developers instead more focused on engrossing players into the beautiful world, but these 10 tips should help new players having trouble grasping the combat or overwhelmed by the expansive map....

The original Octopath Traveler was an unexpected hit. The Bravely Default series proved that Square Enix fans hadn’t lost their appetite for calculated, turned-based combat. So the developer gambled on another retro revival by styling Octopath with its instantly recognizable HD sprite-based artwork. The success of that title left fans wanting more. A console sequel is still over the horizon but the mobile gacha prequel, Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent, is a promising stop-gap for those craving more 16-bit goodness....
