2020 has been a year filled with anticipation, as many gamers say goodbye to their Xbox One and upgrade to the Xbox Series X. Next-generation hardware promises to not only create an improved experience for new games but for entries on the previous console generations as well. This serves as an excellent reason for new hardware owners to peruse some games they might have missed earlier in the year. Some fans may be enjoying the newest console, but plenty of Xbox fans have not been able to get their hands on the Xbox Series X due to stock shortages....

Demon’s Souls Remake is Bluepoint Games’ refurbished and improved version of FromSoftware’s first-ever Souls game. It is a love letter to the original title and a gift to Souls fans all around the world. Upon release, the game was immediately praised for its incredible visuals and its unwavering loyalty to the instant classic it’s remaking. One of the many things people love about Demon’s Souls and other Souls games, in general, is its subtlety and obscurity....

There used to be a time where PC gaming was the only place that audiences could get a satisfying multiplayer experience, but console gaming multiplayer has evolved in extraordinary ways during the past few generations. Looks can be deceiving — and that’s definitely true in the Pokémon world. Many Pokémon look like they’d be extremely powerful but aren’t, or look somewhat weak and are surprisingly great. In preparation for the upcoming Destiny expansion, House of Wolves, Bungie announced they would show off the DLC’s new game mode: Prison of Elders. That reveal happened today and provided a few details about the cooperative game mode as a few players live streamed their playthrough. Early on in the stream, Bungie’s Community Manager, DeeJ, shared that it is possible for Destiny players to solo the new game mode if they so desire....

Prepare to memorize an all-new playbook fight fans, Killer Instinct is back, and packing an-all new c-c-controversial business plan courtesy of Microsoft. Announced back in June of this year, the rebooted battler arrives alongside the Xbox One, as an exclusive digital download — offering basic-level, free-to-play functionality, as well as 3 tiers of paid incentives. With Microsoft’s launch day lineup providing a mixed-bag so far, it falls to developer Double Helix Games to reboot Rare’s iconic title, and land an early blow for the team in green....
