A new map was revealed for the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Beta that takes players to the jungles of Nicaragua. The multiplayer map centered around a remote compound and swampy woodlands, and as Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players entered it, they quickly noticed one feature worth debating: the foliage. This is not the first time that map foliage has come into question. From tree placement in Modern Warfare to the claymore bush strategy in the original Call of Duty Black Ops game, the terrain is a valuable ally....

One of the keys to success for MMO titles is to have the ability to keep players coming back for more. It looks like one of the strategies Bungie has employed to keep players of Destiny involved is to have a number of difficult challenges for players released incrementally. Even though players have now managed to get the game’s first raid, the Vault of Glass, down to a speed run contest, it’s worth remembering that the first successful attempt at the Raid took an incredible 11 hours....

Although Destiny developer Bungie has been fairly vocal when it comes to upcoming content like new raids, new events, and new patches, they very rarely look back. More specifically, we’ve yet to hear Bungie spend too much time explaining why specific elements of Destiny were designed the way they were. This week, however, a group of three Bungie developers took to the Crota’s End raid with three members of the ‘Dads of Destiny’ clan and livestreamed the event to the public....

Revealed at PAX Prime 2012, the Furies are creatures tasked with the judgment of mortals. The very first glimpse of all-out Master Chief action had the world sold on Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn. Now, the time has come for the characterization and drama to give way for a bit more violence. The previous episode of the Halo 4 web series showed that the Chief was worth the wait, but now Hastati Squad takes their fights against the Covenant onto four wheels. While this may be the last chance for fans to see Thomas Lasky before his leading role in Halo 4 (read our review here), those who love the series have a chance to get a bit more when the extended cut of the project will be coming via Blu-ray, and included with the Halo 4 Limited Edition....

Last week’s announcement that Lost Planet 3 is well into production caught just about everyone by surprise, and not just because Capcom had managed to keep the game’s development so quiet. Spark Unlimited, the studio responsible for Legendary: The Box and Turning Point: Fall of Liberty, is heading up development on Lost Planet 3. To say that the developer’s previous games have not been well received would be polite understatement, but things certainly appear to be looking up for Spark – the company is now hiring for another game in what it terms an “established console franchise....

As a thank you gift to the fans who have made Sonic the Hedgehog one of gaming’s few evergreen characters, Sega has today released a demo of the forthcoming Sonic Generations for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
