Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed franchise is known for many things, but the boss fights are not one of them. Yet, the more sequels that came out, the further these games got from pure contracts and targets, and the more they started introducing actual boss fights. Some of these bosses were amazing and silly in their own way, while some of them didn’t quite work out as the devs probably intended. Still, with AC: Valhalla being one of many exciting titles coming out this year, it seemed like a great time to talk boss fights since fans are hyped for some potential Norse God encounters in the newest release....

It’s no secret that last year’s Assassin’s Creed Unity underwhelmed players upon its launch. The official unveiling of Battlefield Hardline has certainly not gone according to publisher Electronic Arts’ plan, but then, it just wouldn’t be E3 without a little bit of chaos. After existence of the game - focusing on the war between cops and robbers - was leaked weeks ago ahead of schedule, fans have been waiting to see an official reveal at E3 2014. Luckily they must wait no longer, as the first official trailer for Hardline has been released, along with a confirmation that the game will be hitting the market on October 21, 2014....

Not great news for Epic Games as a build of their highly anticipated game, Gears of War 3, has started popping up on torrent sites. The build itself isn’t playable unless you happen to possess a modded console or an Xbox 360 dev kit but there’s already footage of the single player campaign hitting YouTube already. Leaked games aren’t something particular new; in fact, a build of Crysis 2 leaked a few weeks before actual shipping....

Not to be confused with the some 100+ items of DLC that are available on the Xbox Live Marketplace and PSN as we speak, Monolith has announced some forthcoming DLC for their recently released competitive shooter Gotham City Impostors. Though the DLC costumes that are available online can be earned in-game, to bypass the lengthy leveling process players can simply fork over a couple bucks and jump to the head of the line....

As with any Comic-Con, it’s a big week for Marvel Studios and parent company Disney who are out in full force with a packed movie, TV, and video game slate. One of Disney’s major showpieces for the video game side of things is Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes (2.0 Edition), which has a full week’s worth of announcements planned for the event. Even before the show floor opened, Disney announced the Guardians of the Galaxy Play Set, which includes all core members of the Guardians troop (Star Lord, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Groot, and Rocket Raccoon) in their own Infinity adventure....

The Hitman series has been missing in action for about six years now. The last offering in the series was Hitman: Blood Money - adding a bit more to the layers of the complex, bald-headed assassin. Luckily, during E3 2011, Hitman: Absolution was announced and looks to be taking the assassin a different direction. Gameplay director, Christian Elverdam, talked to CVG regarding how AI and combat changes will be influencing the way in which Agent 47 tackles his new assignments....

NetherRealm Studios’ forthcoming fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us is a DC Comics fan’s dream — a chance to put the smack down on some of the DC universe’s most reviled super villians. Or conversely it’s an opportunity for a role reversal — a chance to play as the Joker and really beat the crap out of Batman. As the game’s roster continues to grow — in the lead-up to the game’s April 16th release date — the reveals of new characters has become a three-fold process....

Since its release in October 2011, Kinect Sports: Season 2 has been the beneficiary of several content updates. New modes have been added to the game’s six sports (Golf, Tennis, Baseball, Football, Skiing and Darts) via two free Challenge Packs, the most recent of which became available just a month ago. Premium add-on content – the Maple Lakes Golf Pack and the Midnight Mountain Pack – has also been released, adding more depth to the on-disc offerings....

The concept is simple: gamers who purchase video games new receive a code that allows them to unlock all of the game’s features, most often, it’s required in order to play multiplayer. Those who acquire the game used need to purchase that code separately....
