One of the more low-key shows to premiere this year, Syfy’s Resident Alien didn’t have the hype of something like WandaVision or the dedicated fanbase of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, but nonetheless, it has managed to be an entertaining and often heartfelt dramedy about a stranded alien trying to blend in after crash-landing on Earth. Starring Alan Tudyk as the Alien of the title, the 10-episode series is based on a Dark Horse published comic of the same name....

Developed by UFO Interactive, Samurai Sword Destiny was introduced to the masses via the Nintendo 3DS eShop earlier this year. The game is a side-scrolling slash’em up that throws 3DS owners into the role of Akane, a young girl who is trying to locate the whereabouts of her older brother Tetsuo. Apparently all the bad guys in Japan are gunning for her too, because she’ll begin facing hordes of ninjas and samurais right from the beginning....

It’s no secret that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is going to be a massive game. According to CD Projekt Red, the latest (and final) installment in the fantasy role playing series will take players over 200 hours to finish, if they take the time to do everything that the game offers. That’s a lot of gameplay, but until now, it wasn’t clear what, exactly, was going to take up so much time....

Amusingly, the gameplay video contains a fairly blatant dig at Call of Duty: Ghosts, one of the games detailed during the Xbox One reveal, which showed off the series’ first playable animal character: a dog called Riley. Bungie will always be remembered for creating Halo, but for the last decade, the developer has put all of its focus on the Destiny franchise. It is true that both Destiny and Destiny 2 had rough starts, but the series’ gunplay, mechanics, and lore have allowed it to grow and maintain a dedicated fanbase, which is why it is currently one of the most popular FPS MMOs around. Beyond Light is the franchise’s latest expansion, and it focuses on a group of Fallen who have acquired the power of Stasis from the Darkness, and it reintroduces the Exo Stranger who wants The Guardian to use the power to defend humanity....

Throughout the history of Fire Emblem franchise, many characters have been created that fall into various recurring archetypes. Of these archetypes, one of the most commonly appearing are “Jagens.” Named after the character Jagen from the first entry in the series, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, Jagens are pre-promoted characters that join a player’s forces early into a game and are initially incredibly powerful. However, as a game progresses, many Jagens offer diminishing returns as their low growth rates cause them to fall off in usefulness in the later portions of a game....

When it first released back in 2018, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey led the series in a new direction by pushing its RPG aspects to the limit. Ubisoft gave players the choice to play as either a male or female character, presented a story with branching decisions and the option to romance whoever the player wanted. Over the course of the two years since its release, players have found a variety of things that someone can do in the game....

While Capcom’s Dead Rising might not quite have the same following as the publisher’s other zombie-themed IP, the game series nevertheless has managed to amass a dedicated following. Debuting in 2006, Dead Rising feels like a throwback to zombie stories of yesteryear, as players must use the tools at their disposal to survive seemingly endless hordes of the slow but dangerous living dead. The game was a big enough success to spawn three direct sequels and a few remakes, although the series has lost some of its luster in recent years....

6 The Same Creator As The Walking Dead Invincible is based on Robert Kirkman’s first major on-going comic book series after getting his feet wet as an independent writer in the early 2000s. His earlier publications include his self-published, 16-issue superhero satire Battle Pope, and a mini-series titled SuperPatriot: America’s Fighting Force. After a 5-page preview for Invincible debuted in the back of another popular comic book titled Savage Dragon, Kirkman’s frequent publisher, Image Comics, asked him to flesh the story out into a full series after the preview had garnered positive reception from readers back in 2002....

Call of Duty: Warzone adds a new battle royale mode to the base game that is free to all players. It sends players into a literal warzone and it is up to them to find weapons and armor to help them stay alive until the end. A unique aspect of this game is that players who die early on are sent to the Gulag, where they can win back their redeployment....
