In Beyond: Two Souls, players take on the role of Jodie (Ellen Page), a character with a troubled past. As developer Quantic Dream’s maestro, David Cage, explains Jodie has an otherworldly connection with a supernatural being called Aiden. With Aiden by her side, Jodie can interact with the game’s environments in ways that are otherwise impossible. Moreover, as she tries to discover Aiden’s true purpose, she must also avoid hot pursuit from various government officials....

We don’t need to talk about why Diablo 3 is going to be a game worth looking at whenever the developers get around to releasing it, since our beta impressions spoke volumes. While the series has its place in history due to its mastery of RPG systems like crafting and inventory, gamers these days tend to enjoy a healthy dose of story with their gameplay. Blizzard has obviously heard the call, revealing a brand new cinematic trailer at this year’s Blizzcon that is sure to impress fans....

God of War and Gears of War have a lot in common. Both use GoW as their acronym, both are console exclusives, and both released a non-numbered prequel this March: God of War: Ascension and Gears of War: Judgment. And both titles performed relatively poorly during their first month of sales. To be fair, both ‘Of War’ games had some pretty stiff competition in March. As March typically ends a quarter for publishers, many developers are encouraged to get their product out by then....

It goes without saying that Halo: The Master Chief Collection has had a rocky few months after launching last November for the Xbox One. After a number of patches, the game is still not working right, specifically with its matchmaking system. The situation got so bad for players that 343 Industries announced a beta program for this upcoming patch so as to test its effectiveness. Ultimately, however, the beta did not happen, but the patch it was going to test appears to have been completed....

A few years off may have caused some gaming fans to forget the man, the myth, the legend, who made the Xbox what it is today. With the box artwork for Halo 4 released by Microsoft, it’s apparent that the Master Chief is back, and more than ready to fight for his life once again. With Chief’s last appearance in Halo 3, most of the extended fiction and Forerunner mythology has begun to stray from John-117, but 343 Industries is looking to change all that....

The next game to offer players the opportunity to play it early will be Rainbow Six Siege, as Ubisoft announced today that it’ll soon be conducting a Closed Alpha test, and as such, some enthusiastic Rainbow Six fans will be needed. Console players will have to sit this one out, however, as the alpha will be for PC players only. Ubisoft explains that the PC is the lead development platform for Siege, and the team working on it felt that it was “natural to start by testing the game on this platform....

Sylvester Stallone may be getting older, but his legacy is something that is likely to stick around for a long time. Teyon, a development studio based in Poland, has been working since 2011 to tap into the legacy of one his most famous characters, Rambo, with the creatively titled production of Rambo: The Video Game. The first batch of details from the game poured out this summer, but the studio has remained tight-lipped on further progress....

The PlayStation Move is certainly an interesting piece of hardware, but some people feel as though it’s lacking in the software department. That may not be the case anymore, as Sony has just revealed the release date for Sorcery, and an interesting new game called Datura. First things first. Sorcery. Ever since its reveal the game has elusively evaded the eyes of gamers, until it finally resurfaced late last year. Sony can now confirm that the game will be available May 22nd, 2012 and it will also retain the visual changes that we previewed last year....

When Titanfall made its debut at E3 2013, the entire gaming industry took notice. The first title from Respawn Entertainment, a studio comprised of a number of former Infinity Ward developers, won itself over 80 awards from a copious number of different outlets. This wave of critical acclaim has more or less assured Electronic Arts that the game is on a fast track for success, and now the company has informed gamers when they can expect Titanfall to drop onto store shelves....

It has been a long time since Game Rant has had a story on Vanguard: Saga of Heroes. In fact, it’s been a pretty long time since anyone has heard a word from the long overlooked Sony Online Entertainment MMO, but after years of almost complete silence, the developers behind Vanguard have announced that the game will be going free-to-play this summer. For those of you that have kept up with the long, troubled history of Vanguard (all three of you), you are probably aware that the game was basically a failure for Sigil Games Online right out of the gate....

WarCraft is indoubtably one of the biggest intellectual properties in the gaming world, and has been driven by World of Warcraft for some time now. Many fans still yearn for another real-time strategy title akin to WarCraft 3, which wowed gamers with its sharp 3D environment, new races and a rigorous new gameplay system. Since Blizzard hasn’t announced any official RTS Follow-Up for the series, a group of modders have decided to build a complete overhaul mod, taking StarCraft 2 and exchanging the charred lands of Mar Sara for the fruitful lands of Azeroth....

One of the great things about well-designed MMOs is the abundance of variety. In a game like World of Warcraft, players have the option to leisurely stroll through Azeroth collecting battle pets and stopping to fish at every tranquil pond they find, or they can race across the war-filled zones gathering XP at record speed and move on from leveling to end game content; like raiding or competitive player versus player battles....

XCOM: Enemy Unknown succeeded in reviving a seemingly ancient tactical video game franchise and delivered one of the best strategy gaming experiences of last year. Developer Firaxis Games followed up with more digital content to bolster the experience of the core game, but ultimately failed to expand upon their newfound hit in a meaningful way. With the release of the expansion pack Enemy Within, the studio makes up for any prior mistakes and creates a drastically improved addition to a game which already kept fans happy....

As fans of XCOM: Enemy Unknown eagerly await the game’s upcoming expansion, the development team at Firaxis Games is slowly providing more and more evidence that XCOM: Enemy Within may not be the simple updating of weapons or attacks some may have assumed. The shadowy organization may have been founded to combat extraterrestrial threats, but the latest story trailer for the game - dubbed ‘Security Breach’ - shows that XCOM’s greatest concern may not be from space, but from sleeper cells embedded in their own base....

Before the launch of the PS5, a lot of gamers were probably wondering when the flood of HD remasters and HD remakes for the system would begin. They didn’t have to wait long as a Demon’s Souls remake was one of the console’s launch titles. Everyone knows they’re coming, but which ones are really needed or wanted? Many people roll their eyes at adverts for an HD remaster only to remember that the game in question was fun except for long load times, bad voice-acting, or framerate issues; which are (mostly) problems that a newer console should eliminate....

Marvel’s Avengers, one of the most exciting new game releases of September, might have broken records in game sales and even beaten Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 as the best selling game of the week, but fans have been quick to point out the game’s flaws. The game has spawned hundreds of memes due to its stodgy gameplay and weird-looking character models. On the face of it, Marvel’s Avengers is a fun multiplayer experience, but it is massively flawed and gamers have exposed that by slamming together clips of the game, viral memes, and hilarious haikus....

Cuphead was a breath of fresh air when it was released in 2017. Rather than going for a pixel art aesthetic like the majority of indie games do, Cuphead went for a 1920’s cartoon art style, mimicking Disney cartoons of old with the exaggerated facial expressions and onomatopoeia you come to expect from such a style. Each environment in the game is just as fun to look at as it is to play through....
