Included as one of the many video game cameos in the upcoming Disney movie Wreck-It Ralph is none other than the blue speedster Sonic the Hedgehog – but what would one cameo be without sending some love the other direction?...
Any fighting game has to be able to evolve and change as time goes on. A series can’t always feature the same characters over and over again, or it will grow stale and stagnate with the fans. As a result, it’s expected that developers will add more characters to future releases. Sometimes the new faces make fans happy, sometimes they don’t. Soul Calibur V is no exception to this rule, as they’ve promised that the roster will be a mix of both old and new characters - with the older characters enjoying noticeable changes due to a 17-year timegap....

Just like the Christopher Nolan films, the Batman: Arkham games set a new standard for superhero entertainment in a given medium. Most of the superhero licensed games preceding the Arkham games were movie tie-ins or titles that suffered from a lack of budget or direction. Rocksteady and WB Montreal showed what a Batman game could be if you focused on engaging combat, an interesting narrative, and a world ripe of references, easter eggs, and cameos from the DC universe....
While most people adore Grass-type Pokemon for their floral and natural designs, many will also agree that they have some of the worst weaknesses in the Pokemon series. Being weak to Fire-, Flying-, Bug-, Poison-, and Ice-type attacks makes most of them quite weak, and as a result, they often need absurd stats or powerful subtypes to stay relevant. This is hardly the case, though, as many Grass-type Pokemon hold the record for the most weaknesses of any species in Pokemon history....

It looks like another high profile game will be getting stereoscopic 3D support, as Warner Bros Interactive and DC Entertainment announced today that Batman: Arkham City will support both stereoscopic 3D and anaglyphic 3D. This comes hot off the heels that Gears of War 3 will also feature 3D. Arkham City is one of the most highly anticipated games this year, and the inclusion of 3D support should bode well for those hoping to get some use out of their 3DTVs - or anyone thinking about buying one....
A major mod for The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim launched today, adding the massive city of Bruma said to be larger in scope to the official Dragonborn DLC. Bruma is the first release in a fan modding project named Beyond Skyrim, the objective of which is to piece by piece complete various neighboring provinces of Tamriel. The scope of the project is incredible, but it all starts here. Bruma is just a taste of the Cyrodil team’s efforts, which is just the first step into Beyond Skyrim....
Crusader Kings 2 is one of the most deep strategy games out there today, where players quest to bring their family to power through any means necessary - assassinations, subterfuge, war and deceit are the name of the game. Though the game is now two years old, Paradox Interactive has kept it supplied with plenty of downloadable content updates, the latest being Charlemagne. It’s arguably the largest expansion since Old Gods, and brings a lot of new content for hungry Crusader Kings 2 fans....
After a fall fraught with disappointments, it’s nice to see at least one major game deliver. While Dragon Age: Inquisition isn’t without its faults, reviews of BioWare’s fantasy epic are overwhelmingly positive. Many critics praise Inquisition’s deep characters, expansive setting, and seemingly inexhaustibly supply of content, while also noting that combat’s gotten a sizable upgrade from Dragon Age 2. Inquisition isn’t perfect, but it’s a big step in the right direction....
Some might claim that given just how tight-lipped publishers are being about their next-gen sequels, almost any video game confirmed for the PS4 and Xbox One with a little promise could hog the spotlight. But that’s not the only reason why Evolve is catching gamers’ attention. The next creation from the team behind Left 4 Dead, the recently-revealed shooter puts a squad of human Hunters up against an evolving enemy. Square Enix has pulled the video for copyright reasons. Final Fantasy III introduced summons into the Final Fantasy series, and they’ve been omnipresent ever since. From Final Fantasy III’s summons to Final Fantasy XIV’s primals, summoning powerful creatures to fight for players on the field of battle has been a huge part of the series’ lore and gameplay, and they have shown the capabilities of each game’s battle system. Final Fantasy XV continues the tradition, with a bevy of Eidolons planned for the player to summon to their side....
