Agent 47, the leading man of the Hitman franchise, has been through a lot during his tenure as the world’s greatest assassin. He’s jet-set across the entire globe multiple times over, killed evil clones of himself, killed people with guns, killed people with engineering feats of Rube Goldbergian proportions…basically, he has killed. Often. It’s literally what he was genetically engineered to do. That, and look amazing in bespoke suits. This trend continues in 2021 with Hitman 3’s release, to high praise from TheGamer’s own Kirk McKeand, no less....

Fans of the Resident Evil franchise might have a stormy and rocky relationship with Resident Evil 6, but there’s no denying that the game is a welcoming party for a couple of new characters. For the first time in Resident Evil history, the 2012 game features three different campaigns and one unlockable storyline, with a total of seven playable characters. One of the new characters to be featured on the game is Piers Nivans, a BSAA soldier who shares the stage with Chris Redfield throughout the game....

Horror games manage to fill players with a sense of dread and excitement. No matter how terrifying a game in the horror genre may be, fans continue to go back for more. As technology and social understanding develop, so does the way developers evolve horror games to better connect with players on a visceral level. Experimental horror has become its own sub-genre, and there are dozens of games that push boundaries within it....

The Sonic the Hedgehog movie was released back in February, but not until after Sonic’s design was adjusted. He was a sight for sore eyes with an elongated body and beady eyes that looked nothing like the games. Fans were relieved when they saw the updated Sonic that stayed true to the original character. It’s clear that the series is not slowing down as it shows no signs of losing its momentum or popularity. While recent games have steadily moved away from the franchise’s stealth roots and embraced a more Witcher-like action game style, the franchise’s dedication to unique historical settings still means there is a ton of potential for future entries....

RPGs are immensely popular and have been almost since the dawn of the medium. While many games have adopted mechanics from the popular style, plenty of pure examples of the genre still exist in the modern gaming landscape. Avid fans of RPGs have played enough of them to see plenty of things in each game that do not quite add up. None of these entries do anything to detract from the genre, however....

Sometimes, it’s the cute ones that are actually the strongest, or at least that’s what I’ve been trying to convince girls for the last five years (still not going well). More often than not, you’ll find people will surprise you with their hidden mental and physical strengths. Like, who knew Donny from HR can do 30 pull-ups? Or that Gwen, your Starbucks barista, does trigonometry problems for fun? Square Enix fans have long thought that a crossover event between Final Fantasy 14 and the much-beloved Kingdom Hearts franchise seems like a match made in heaven. No matter how gamers may feel about developer Sledgehammer Games keeping their Zombies mode variant out of the main Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare package, it’s hard to deny Exo Zombies’ appeal to the masses. Just check out the above trailer for Exo Zombies’ release, which features John Malkovich throwing out trademark Malkovich lines, and try to be the least bit excited. Exo Zombies, for those that may not know, is Advanced Warfare’s horde mode-esque campaign with a few key twists....

For weeks we have been saying that Destiny’s The Dark Below expansion was set to introduce some big changes into the world of Bungie’s MMO/FPS. But, not knowing how exactly specific features would work, we were operating more so on hope than firm knowledge. Now that Bungie has revealed more about The Dark Below it appears those assumptions were correct. But digging deeper into The Dark Below info has also revealed some changes that may be simultaneously exciting and deflating to players....

November is finally here, and along with it comes the first planned DLC for Forza Motorsport 4, the November Speed Pack. Comprised of ten new cars, ranging from classics like the 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air to such modern Supercars as the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, the November Speed Pack is available right now from Xbox Live. Six total Forza Motorsport 4 DLC packs are scheduled for release, all together adding 60 new cars to the game’s already expansive lineup....

Video games and movies have always had a contentious relationship. Although video games based on films can sometimes lead to some impressive results, such as our list of the top 10 movie tie-in games, all too often the projects are little more than shovelware, hastily produced to cash in on the film they are meant to represent. At first, the idea of a fictional NPR style podcast about a journalist researching Master Chief’s origins may not sound very engrossing, but the Serial-style radio drama is completely addicting. I started Mass Effect Andromeda last night - and don’t worry, I’m feeling perfectly fine. As I reach the conclusion of the Legendary Edition and polish off my journey through the original trilogy, I’ve decided to give its polarising sequel a spin - and I can already see many of the flaws and criticisms fans have spent years mourning over. It simply doesn’t have the grave circumstances and monolithic proportions of its predecessor, failing to fully capitalise on the mystery of uncovering an entirely new galaxy....
