Computer hardware company Intel has begun teasing “something big” for a new event it has announced for later this year, leading many to believe that this event will mark the launch of the company’s 11th gen CPUs. Intel first showed off its 11th gen CPUs at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) earlier this year. Known as the “Tiger Lake” line, these 10nm chips will have Intel’s new integrated Xe graphics, which are expected to greatly boost graphics performance....

It has been a long time since developer Vanillaware graced the gaming space with a new visual delight. The developer has been working on their next game for a while now, but the wait is nearly over. 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim received a new trailer amid the Summer announcement period. Outside of just showing off how pretty a Vanillaware game is, the trailer also provided a North American release date. 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim will be available on the PlayStation 4 on September 8....

We’ve already gone into great depth discussing the destruction of buildings in Battlefield 3, but most of that was trailer based. While that amazing 12-minute trailer does showcase Frostbite 2.0 being pushed to its maximum, it’s all single player stuff. On the multiplayer side of things, players will be able to exact their own architectural manslaughter, but obviously not on the same scale. To give gamers a better sense of that destruction in Battlefield 3, and not just building destruction, EA and DICE have released a brief, but very awesome new trailer for the game....

It seems like forever ago when Battlefield 4 was released, and yet the litany of problems players have encountered since then makes it seem as if they got the short end of the stick. It got the point where DICE delayed releasing pre-planned DLC content until bugs and server issues with Battlefield 4 were addressed. As an extension of an olive branch to players upset with its seemingly half-finished product, DICE has been promoting Battlefield 4 Fan Appreciation Month....

Fans of the original BioShock games may have noticed a running trend in the game when it came to combat: Close quarters with only a few enemies. While that recipe does add up to creating tense and exciting moments of action, BioShock: Infinite is going to see a much more dramatic change in the environment, replacing confined areas with the wide open sky platforms of Columbia. BioShock: Infinite is going to be a game that everyone in the industry is going to pay a lot of attention to, but no more than creative director Ken Levine, though....

One of the biggest selling points of the Call of Duty series is its multiplayer, with over 100 billion multiplayer matches having been played so far. With Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, the latest game in the franchise, developer Sledgehammer Games decided to switch things up as they introduced ‘Exo Zombies’. Instead of the normal running and gunning of past Call of Duty zombies modes, Exo Zombies featured powerful zombies wearing exo suits and it had a narrative tied to it too....

Although many gamers are still pouring over all that Destiny has to offer in terms of story missions, Strikes, raids, and PvP multiplayer, there is a growing contingent that is fast becoming bored with the game’s base content. These players (present company included) are hungry for more, and are hopeful that the coming weeks and months will bring new and exciting experiences to Bungie’s shooter/MMO hybrid. However, outside of a few calendar events and the names of two DLC expansions, we don’t know much about Destiny’s future....

Players who have committed more than twenty hours or so to sci-fi first-person shooter Destiny know that it is the kind of game that demands new, exciting content as frequently as possible. The game’s loot and experience grind is a lot of fun, but like most MMOs, hardcore players find themselves very quickly revisiting the same content repeatedly to hunt down gear and materials to upgrade said gear. Three months after launch, the available end-game content is getting a bit old and players are ready for a new challenge and a change of scenery....

While most games these days tend to make it their priority to take complicated, expansive gameplay systems and make them as streamlined and action-focused as possible, the team behind Dragon Age: Inquisition is heading the opposite direction. After highlighting action over detail-oriented strategy with Dragon Age 2, BioWare is not only bringing back the original game’s tactical combat, but throwing more tricks than ever before into the mix - and letting their players figure out how they would like to play....

A mod for Grand Theft Auto 4 has been circulating the web for the past week or so that makes some very stunning additions to the almost three-year-old game. Implementing some new lighting and graphical improvements, this GTA4 mod delivers a video game image that is as close to photorealistic as has been seen in the franchise to date. Dubbed the icEnhancer, this mod makes the cars look like they were ripped from the tracks of Gran Turismo and the buildings feel like perfect renderings of their real world counterparts....

If Michel Ancel is, as has often been suggested, the French Miyamoto, then Rayman is clearly his Mario. It’s fitting, then, that just as Nintendo periodically re-releases Mario’s classic games, Ubisoft is reaching into Rayman’s back catalog to dust off the limbless wonder’s earlier adventures and introduce them to a new generation of players. So get ready, because Rayman 3 HD arrives March 21st on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation network....

Yesterday, legendary game creator Sid Meier sat down with Firaxis Games’ own Pete Murray to demonstrate a short in-game playthrough of Sid Meier’s Starships for the first time. Players watching the above video got a great look at the start screen, the main principles of fleet building and basic combat, as well as expanding their galactic influence and meeting other civilizations. We took a look at the video, and have a rundown on what to expect in Sid Meier’s Starships based on the 30 minute demonstration....

Bethesda can never completely whitewash the legacy of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’s DLC on the PlayStation 3 – the obfuscation and frustration brought on by months of development latency; a myriad of struggles and mysteries (which weren’t entirely of the company’s own doing); and a lacking, even misleading level of communication with anxious fans (which kind of was). But they can build on it. Bethesda began setting the stage for post-release Skyrim content on the PS3 late last year when they confirmed Dragonborn, the game’s second and most recent expansion, for an “early 2013” release and promised it would be followed shortly by Dawnguard and Hearthfire....

The most impressive and ambitious game of E3 2012 has now officially added itself to the next-gen roster. Following the unveiling of the PlayStation 4 at Sony’s Future of PlayStation event today, Ubisoft’s Yves Guillemot took the stage to confirm that Watch Dogs, as many had already anticipated, will be releasing as a launch title for the future console. A later Ubisoft press memo also announced the game for release on Nintendo’s Wii U....

A new trailer for World of Warcraft’s Mists of Pandaria expansion has been released, and it’s the one fans have been eagerly anticipating. As with any Blizzard release it isn’t truly real until the unveiling of the opening cinematic of the game, or in this case, cinematic that sets the scene for a new world and race of characters. That’s what we have for you today, Mists of Pandaria’s cinematic trailer....

During its 29-year life, Mortal Kombat has introduced us to a huge cast of characters - some of which are universally beloved. But others have turned out rather forgettable. Mortal Kombat 11 is the latest entry in the fighting series and has arguably the best and most refined gameplay to date. At launch, fans were given a choice of 25 fighters including the debut of Geras, Cetrion, and Kollector. DLC expansions, including two Kombat Packs and the Aftermath Expansion, now have the roster sitting at 37 playable characters....

The Call of Duty franchise has a bunch of great games. Whether it’s striving for historical accuracy when depicting World War 2 or testing the limits of technology in Black Ops these games have some excellent moments of realism and plausibility. Except there are times when either the requirements of gameplay, video game traditions, or just plain developer oversight leads to some questionable logic. When fans pick up on these moments they can become immortalized on the internet forever as hilarious memes....

Players who have experienced Hitman 3 already know that the game is bursting with stunning artwork, crisp audio, and gripping gameplay. It’s been critically well-received and players are enjoying the conclusion of the trilogy. The game is rightfully enjoying some time basking in the spotlight as a marvel in the industry and an example of how future developers should successfully conclude a franchise. Yet even the best of games deserve a good ribbing to keep them humble....

The Sega Dreamcast remains one of the most innovative consoles ever made. With online play, VGA output and even motion controls, it was a system years ahead of its time. Unfortunately, however, the console’s sales were not able to live up to its fantastic feature set. Releasing in the US on September 9th, 1999, the Dreamcast only sold around 10 million units before being discontinued less than three years later. There are a number of reasons why the system failed, including its lack of a DVD player and the lack of support from 3rd party developers like EA....
